Bear Branch Horse Camp is centrally located in the beautiful 280,000-acre Shawnee National Forest just above Lusk Creek Canyon. Named after a creek that runs through the property, Bear Branch offers exceptional horse camping sites and cabins, and multiple access to the most scenic riding and hiking trails in the Forest. The Shawnee National Forest now has marked trails as well as good maps. Bridle Tags are no longer required to ride in the Shawnee National Forest.
Bear Branch features the well-known rustic Log Cabin Restaurant, now wi-fi equipped; 80 campsites with water and electricity; a heated and air-conditioned shower house and laundry;and cabins and lodging with private baths. Other accommodations and amenities include:

Overnight Camping, with Water and Electricity
All campsites: two adults per site. Without sewer, $26/night; with sewer, $29/night; $6 per additional adult.
Primitive camping, $12/night; camp around pond; one unit (2 adults) or tent per site.
Primitive Rawhide Cabin, sleeps five people, includes breakfast table, heated and air conditioned with porch swing. No bathroom. It is 60 yards from the Bear Branch shower house. Two adults, $39/night; $10 per additional person.
Rustic Cabins
For all facilities you must bring your own
bedding, soap, and towels.All the cabins described below have heat and air conditioning, private bath with shower, microwave, compact refrigerator, coffeemaker and outdoor charcoal grill.
Dogs are welcome by reservation only, with a $25 cleaning fee. If left alone in a cabin, dogs must be crated.
